چکیده

Accuracy of quantum process estimation is limited to noisy operations in the preparations and measurements devices. Such imperfections may lead to inaccuracies in the process reconstruction due to the fact that standard data analysis techniques presume ideal devices. Here, we provide a scheme for estimation of completely positive quantum maps acting on qubit systems using calibrated faidty state generator and analyzer. Specifically, we present a generalization of "Direct Characterization of Quantum Dynamics" [M. Mohseni and D. A. Lidar, 97,170501 (2006)] with an imperfect Bell-state analyzer.

Hyperentanglement-enabled direct characterization of quantum dynamics.

We use hyperentangled photons to experimentally implement an entanglement-assisted quantum process tomography technique known as direct characterization of quantum dynamics. Specifically, hyperentanglement-assisted Bell-state analysis enabled us to characterize a variety of single-qubit quantum processes using far fewer experimental configurations than are required by standard quantum process t...

Modeling and Studying Measurement Device Independent Quantum Key Distribution Systems

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems generate and distribute shared secure cryptographic keying material; however, real-world QKD systems are built from non-ideal components and processes which can negatively impact their performance and security [1]. Thus, an efficient means for studying these complex systems is warranted – one which minimizes the extensive resources required to build QKD ar...

Fermionic bell-state analyzer for spin qubits.

We propose a protocol and physical implementation for partial Bell-state measurements of Fermionic qubits, allowing for deterministic quantum computing in solid-state systems without the need for two-qubit gates. Our scheme consists of two spin qubits in a double quantum dot where the two dots have different Zeeman splittings and resonant tunneling between the dots is only allowed when the spin...

Device-independent characterizations of a shared quantum state independent of any Bell inequalities

In a Bell experiment two parties share a quantum state and perform local measurements on their subsystems separately, and the statistics of the measurement outcomes are recorded as a Bell correlation. For any Bell correlation, it turns out a quantum state with minimal size that is able to produce this correlation can always be pure. In this work, we first exhibit two characterizations for the p...
